Authentic South Tyrolean cuisine

Because the best ingredients can be found nearby, elements from the woods and meadows are used in the kitchen of the Gasthof Bad Dreikirchen. Every day, dairy products and eggs, vegetables and meat, and herbs and spices are freshly delivered from local and regional farms. The style of cooking at the inn is simple but very enjoyable. The regional specialities are prepared the old-fashioned way. In fact, they are so delicious that guests come all the way up the mountain from the valley.

Enjoy a proper breakfast (from 8:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.) on the sunny veranda with a view of the Dolomites. There is a large selection of freshly baked bread from the village bakery, South Tyrolean speck and cooked ham from the butcher Trockner in Kollmann. Select cheeses from the Algund Alpine dairy, fresh goat cheese from the Gasser farm in Sauders. Organic butter, milk and yoghurt, fresh fruit and exclusively homemade jams. Breakfast cereals and muesli, egg dishes from free-range eggs from the Fallinaich farm on request. Tea specialities from Peter’s Tea House, cappuccinos & more from the coffee roasting company Alps Coffee. What it all comes down to is clear: We like it fresh, regional, homemade.

From 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., we serve small, select South Tyrolean dishes from the menu. Stone pine spaghetti, homemade potato dumplings with ‘Kloatzenmehl’ (dried pear flour), or Kaiserschmarrn. A good glass of wine from the local winemaker ‘Röck-Hof’ in Villanders. The dishes are combined in an authentic but surprisingly refined way. Down-to-earth and downright delicious.

The four-course dinner menu of choice is served in the old dining room and the Tyrolean stube. It starts with a rich salad buffet, followed by a variety of starters and main courses to choose from, including a vegetarian option. A dessert crowns the culinary experience. We are happy to accommodate special requirements for those with food intolerances (on request).
The ingredients come from local producers whenever possible.

Homemade cakes, tarts, and apple strudel, baked following old family recipes. Plus coffee and tea specialities from the surrounding area. Every connoisseur is well taken care of here.

What better way to get in the mood for the upcoming dinner than with an aperitif after a long day in the mountains? You can unwind in the garden under the mighty chestnut tree, enjoy the view on the panoramic terrace with a prosecco, gin and tonic, Negroni, Hugo, or whatever your heart desires. Or you can sit by the fireplace listening to the crackling wood.
